Memory Lanes: This bowling alley doesn’t look like much from the outside and it has a classic, slightly grungy old-school vibe on the inside, but it’s clean, efficient, and we’ve always left happy. There are bumpers and ramps for the kids. We’ve eaten food her a couple times and it’s surprisingly upscale for bowling alley food. The pizza is made with a homemade herb dough and the one we ordered, the Sweet and Swine, has fresh pineapple, which makes a world of difference for taste. My partner and I both honed in on a burger with crispy onions, fried pickles, and barbecue sauce, and we decided to split it. I think we both missed the grilled cheese bun part of its description. Holy Moly, what a beast! The burger was sandwiched between two grilled cheese sandwiches! Luckily they don’t fry the bread in butter, which would have been too much of a grease bomb, but the grilled cheese eats a little dry and isn’t very tasty on its own. The burger part is delicious. I think if they get the grilled cheese part on par with the tasty burger then this beast makes a tasty dinner for you and several of your friends. They should give out tee-shirts for those who successfully eat the entire thing.
Town Hall Lanes: This bowling alley has fun things for kids and adults. They brew their own beer and have some tasty food, but the real draw is the modern lanes. My kids LOVE the feature where you can transpose your face onto cartoon characters. This feature alone makes bowling extra fun for children. The kids love bowling when it’s their turn but don’t like it as much when they’re waiting for their next turn. The cartoon feature makes the waiting fun.
Ran-Ham Bowling/The Nook: We come for the food and stay for the bowling. The lanes are old-school but get the job done. The real draw here is the food. They serve some of the best burgers in MN and are absolutely worth a visit for food alone, but expect a wait. The Triple B burger is stellar. They have lots of wing flavors, good cheese curds, and tasty onion rings. Food prices are reasonable, especially considering quality. They have a bowling special for kids on Sundays and several food specials throughout the week. With affordable, tasty food and kid specials, Ran-Ham is a great choice for family fun.
